About Dr. Jennifer Shiflet
Dr. Jennifer Shiflet grew up in Bethesda, Maryland and is a third-generation dentist, following in her grandfather and father’s footsteps. She recently moved to sunny Florida to enjoy the year-round warmth and branch out on her own. She loves working with people and tackling the artistic challenges of dentistry. She believes that oral health is critically important to overall wellbeing and strives to help her patients improve their lives through their smile.
Jennifer attended college in Washington, DC at the prestigious George Washington University. From there, recognizing her potential, she was easily accepted to dental school at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland. Upon graduation, based on her undeniable academic and clinical performance she was selected from a nationwide pool of applicants and invited to spend a year in Houston, Texas completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency where she excelled. She was so immediately successful, and demonstrated such exceptional leadership and clinical skill, that she was voted by her colleagues to serve as Chief Resident during her tenure in the program.
As part of her post-doctoral training, Jennifer received advanced training with digital dental systems, similar to the intraoral scanner and camera we have now adopted in our office. She is certified to perform soft tissue procedures with lasers and also to treat patients with Invisalign orthodontics.
She is recently engaged to her fiancée, Kyle, and will be getting married in Washington, DC this upcoming June. They enjoy traveling to new places and spending time with family and friends. They have two cats, Bella and Beau, and a dog, Luna. In her spare time, Dr. Shiflet enjoys cooking, photography, and generally anything that involves being outdoors.
